Digital Literacy

Whether you're starting from scratch or building on what you already know, our Digital Literacy Training meets you where you are.

Banking, GP appointments, school updates, job applications, benefits, even the home phone: more and more of everyday life now happens online first, and the offline alternatives are shrinking. The shift wasn't our choice, but we all have to deal with it. This training builds the practical skills it now takes.

Topics we often cover: basic computer skills, finding your way around the internet, email, common software, searching effectively, protecting your personal information, using social media safely, managing your online presence (accounts, pages, and profiles), judging what you see online (who's behind it, why, and whether it's true), and online services like banking, healthcare, and government services.

Our trainers give personal support and practical exercises. Learning something new can feel daunting, so you go at your own pace and can ask anything.

Knowing how to use something isn't the same as knowing when to question it. So alongside the practical skills, we work on the critical ones: acting online with confidence and care, and asking questions before you do. Who is saying this? What might they want? Is what I'm seeing what's actually happening? And before pressing share or like: am I helping to spread something harmful, like hate speech or a scam?
